如果你一定要自己改也行，我可以给你改ftp密码的权限一天，一天后我收回，我收回是因为此权限同样可以改我分配给你的空间的大小及其他可能的设置，如果你保证你不会擅自把自己的空间大小及其他可能的设置改大的话，我也可以给你这个权限。当然如果我发现你擅自把自己的空间大小及其他可能的设置改大的话，那就搞得大家难为情了。所以，如果你要的话，我可以给你这个权限。另，ftp密码在DreamHost的控制面板中是以明文显示的，有权限的管理者可以看到，但还是那句话“我没时间也没兴趣去看客户的东西”。所以如果你想要自己空间中的内容绝对的保密的话，我建议你用WinRAR进行打包加密或其他加密办法。
如果你可以研究出：改ftp密码和分配空间大小分离的办法，那我绝对可以把改ftp密码的权限给你。我想DreamHost功能复杂，说不定可以找到这样的办法的。如通过FTP客户端或Shell命令行来改FTP密码，或用CURL功能自建一个套在DreamHost控制面板上的专供合租者用的改FTP密码的网页。

其实，大家都是彼此互相不放心的。因为密码一事关系重大。我也做了很多心态调整。
原则上，我不想有太大权限，很多事日后说不清。我只要一天修改权限。
主要是你给我的密码，我根本记不住。所以我得改一个我好记的。
如果这密码是明文，我也只能相信你不会去动。
对于dreamhost 功能的研究，我想我没有那么行能在很少的时间内去了解如何改。
另外，我不知道是不是mail的设定也是出了一些问题。我不管如何设，都没有任何效果。即使系统的信息回应是成功的，但是实际上都不能用。我不知道这是不是也是因为权限的问题。（不是很确定）。
说不满，倒是没有。主要是我也是IT出身。大家共同分租一个空间，我也能接受的确有很多问题在安全上的考量会有一些矛盾。我只希望一切可以能很顺利解决。大家互相一下。

说到底如果我不知道你的FTP密码，你的内容也不是绝对的安全，因为DreamHost的人还可以看到你存在上面的东西呢。这样说的话，你的Yahoo信箱也不安全，YAHOO等网络公司和中国政府合作后，听说我国的安全部门可以随便查看任何中国人的邮箱。
最安全的办法就是你自己对文件进行加密，这样任何人都看不到。
好的，我已给你一天修改权限，请到User中改FTP密码，改好后通知我。
邮件我没有限制任何权限，因为DreamHost根本就没有限制邮件权限的地方，只有一个对Mail List的权限控制，而这个权限我已完全开放给你了。所以我想肯定还是设置的问题，建议查找DreamHost的帮助文档和知识库，或到网上GOOGLE搜索一下DreamHost的邮件如何设置。

看来我有一个程序在mySQL 5.0 上是不被支持的。最好是4.0.23。 我知道Dreamhost支持 MySQL 4.x. 但是你开放给我的是5.x. 这要麻烦你设定一下了。（我已经有用5.x版本放了些东西，不要把我给删了。。。）

我上去看了，DreamHost没有提供可以选择MYSQL数据库版本的选项，它只有一个新建数据库功能，没有指定版本的地方。
你改不了数据库版本吗？你能否通过phpMyAdmin把MYSQL引擎它改成4.x的兼容模式吗？我记得好像有的。
你若在其他地方，如DreamHost的帮助或网上找到有关DREAMHOST的MYSQL版本的说明和讨论、解决办法，请告诉我，我一定尽力帮助你。

真没想到，你最终解决了，就好。
你可用一个 phpinfo() 来显示一下空间对PHP各功能的支持，我是看到有IMAP这一项支持的，你也可以看一下phpinfo的输出.
DreamHost还有支持的知识库等文档，我想你一定也都看过了吧。

Dear Sir,

Many thanks for your help, and many thanks for what you have done for me. Actually, I have setup the way you did for me before my last message, and waited for a couple of days with a hope that setting could work. However, it did not. This was why I posted the setting on my domain-name host site.

After your email, I have wait one more days to see whether it will work. However, it didnot as well. Finally, I made a change on my domain-name hosting site, and added the mailserver of dreamhost to my mx entry. It works finally.

Why I was not happy about the service? Well, just because I was not clear what mx record I have to made on both sites. But no any hint about that. Anyway, it is solved finally. And many thanks for your help. Although you still insists that it is not your service, and it is not your responsibility to do that for me. Yes, I agree. You dont have to do things beyond customer satisfaction.

Now, there is another problem I need your help. When I setup my application in my space, an error message shows. It said that my application needs to be PHP IMAP activated. The message shows:

Inbound Email cannot function without the IMAP c-client libraries enabled/compiled with the PHP module. Please contact your administrator to resolve this issue.

I need your help to solve this problems. Since before we purchase this service, it says that your service has IMAP enabled, and this is the reason why we purchase this service. My applicaton need this features to be enabled. Please help. and many thanks in advance.

I'm going to go out of my way to answer your question, but I need you to
understand that if you're hosting your DNS elsewhere then we are in no
way responsible or accountable if you can't figure out how to setup your
DNS properly. We've provided several responses to your requests that gave
you the information you needed, but you got upset with us when you
couldn't figure it out. The problem is not with our service.

A brief guide how to correctly set this up:

First of all, you'll want to change your MX records back to "Regular
DreamHost email" in our web control panel. This makes sense, because this
is what you said you're trying to do. I've went ahead and done this for
